Aunque en los cursos de nivel inicial los buzos aprenden a compensar la presi\u00f3n de los o\u00eddos, el barotraumatismo del o\u00eddo sigue siendo la lesi\u00f3n de buceo m\u00e1s habitual. Si bien el barotraumatismo del o\u00eddo causa dolor y puede da\u00f1ar el t\u00edmpano, no supone riesgo de muerte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si el buzo no respira durante el ascenso, puede sufrir barotraumatismo pulmonar y embolia arterial gaseosa (EAG). Ambas son condiciones potencialmente mortales. La mejor prevenci\u00f3n es no ascender demasiado r\u00e1pido ni entrar en p\u00e1nico durante el ascenso.
