In the window was the object of their desire: a 220-volt charging strip. A dozen people piled out and bought every one the store had and returned to the bus before the traffic cleared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why the frenzy? We had just spent a week on a liveaboard with a battery charging station that was inadequate for all our strobes, cameras, and drones. Each cubby had only a single 220-volt outlet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 220-volt power was not a concern, because most modern electronics are compatible with 110- to 220-volt power. The issue was where to charge all the equipment, especially since we couldn\u2019t charge anything in our cabins due to it being a fire hazard.
