Many professional and occupational fields — such as medicine, engineering, accounting, and insurance — require continuing education to maintain a current certification. There are plenty of opportunities for dive professionals to develop and maintain their skills but almost no requirements for remaining current in their areas of expertise. Divers Alert Network recognized this gap, especially where updated knowledge is essential to teach and practice safely, and has developed a Continuing Education for the Dive Professional program.
DAN offers liability insurance to the dive industry to provide some degree of protection for dive professionals, which has given us a firsthand understanding of the most common incidents, accidents, lawsuits, and complaints. This knowledge, combined with DAN’s mission to reduce injuries and incidents, gives DAN a unique perspective to make a difference in the industry. This new initiative, which uses our existing training platform, drives real change for dive professionals.
El primer curso del programa Educación continua para profesionales de buceo se lanzó en mayo de 2024. Más de 2.500 profesionales de buceo se inscribieron y realizaron el curso durante el primer mes. El programa continuará expandiéndose y marcando la diferencia en la seguridad en el buceo.
