Through the Powered By DAN program, dive training agencies can integrate the skills and standards of DAN’s basic life support, CPR, oxygen administration, and other course content into their first aid training.
While scuba training agencies are the experts in diving and in-water education, DAN is the recognized authority on first aid for dive injuries. DAN’s curriculum is the most comprehensive in the industry, covering more skills than any other courses for lay providers. The curriculum leverages insights from DAN’s medical services and claims data on dive-related incidents as well as its close monitoring of evolving research and international standards.
Powered By DAN delivers real results. Using e-learning materials and reference slates provided by DAN, dive training agencies host the content on their platforms and certify instructors through their established systems.
Four dive training agencies — SSI, NAUI, IANTD, and SEI — have adopted the program as of early 2026. At the 2025 DEMA Show last November, DAN and those agencies co-taught Instructor Qualification Courses and Instructor Trainer Qualification Courses to certify DAN Instructors — active dive professionals who will build a better-trained, skill-equipped dive community.
Powered By DAN’s goal is to have capable first aid providers at every dive site. As the program expands, more divers will learn the same skills and standards. Consistently trained divers can respond more effectively as a team during emergencies, when every second counts.
