COMUNICACIÓN DE DAN

DAN President and CEO Cliff Richardson joined the DAN World – Asia-Pacific team in April at Asia Dive Expo (ADEX) 2026 in Singapore, where DAN served as the show’s official safety partner. ADEX is the largest and longest-running dive expo in Asia.

In addition to connecting with divers at the DAN World – Asia-Pacific exhibit booth, Richardson delivered a presentation titled “Advancing Diver Safety Through Education,” which focused on how DAN’s partnerships and programs across the Asia-Pacific region are helping build a stronger, safer future for our sport.

The presentation highlighted the region as an important area of growth within the global dive community. As dive participation increases there, so do the opportunities and challenges. Many dive destinations are geographically dispersed, access to emergency resources can vary, and response times are often shaped by distance and infrastructure.

Richardson’s presentation emphasized that strong regional partnerships are key to improving safety outcomes. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, DAN works alongside local dive communities and operators to develop practical, sustainable safety capabilities that reflect regional needs.

DAN’s “One Thousand in One Thousand” initiative is a clear example of this approach. The Indonesia-based program trained 1,000 dive industry professionals in lifesaving first aid and emergency oxygen skills within 1,000 days, reaching its goal just days after ADEX.

The DAN CEO closed with a call to action, encouraging dive professionals and operators to prioritize collaborations and continuing education. Building a culture of continuous learning, he noted, is essential to strengthening a culture of dive safety.
