At the 2025 DEMA Show in Orlando, DAN demonstrated our commitment to serving the diving community as your dive safety association. The event brought together many people who make DAN’s mission possible: dive pros, dive businesses, training agencies, and other industry partners who support safety.
DIVE BUSINESS RESOURCES
At our booth, DAN staff met one-on-one with current and prospective DAN Business Members to discuss programs and benefits for dive pros and businesses — including Student Membership, referral rewards, liability insurance discounts, and more.
Members received a complimentary DAN Business Member Pack containing brochures promoting membership and dive accident insurance, plus additional marketing materials. All DAN Business Members can request these kits and access digital resources through our Business Member portal. The booth also showcased emergency oxygen and first aid products from the DAN Store.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION
In the days leading up to DEMA, DAN hosted the Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) and Instructor Trainer Qualification Course (IQTC), co-taught with the Powered By DAN partner training agencies: SSI, NAUI, IANTD, and SEI. Through this program, dive training agencies incorporate DAN’s basic life support, CPR, oxygen administration, and other courses into their first aid training. DAN also held the DAN Instructor, Instructor Trainer, and Examiner Annual Update, as well as an Examiners Meeting. For those who couldn’t attend, an online version will be available in early 2026.
In DAN’s seminar room, our researchers, doctors, and safety experts presented on cylinder safety, cardiovascular fitness to dive, updated CNS oxygen toxicity exposure limits, effective risk management, and other topics that will receive further attention in upcoming DAN publications and member communications.
DAN MEMBER SOCIAL
This year’s DAN Member Social, held November 11 at the Rosen Centre Hotel, brought together more than 1,500 dive industry professionals for an evening of community and celebration. DAN adjusted the schedule from previous years and implemented an e-ticket system to enhance the overall experience for members.
The event featured addresses from DAN’s outgoing president and CEO, Bill Ziefle, and incoming president and CEO, Cliff Richardson, highlighting the organization’s latest accomplishments and vision of making every dive accident- and injury-free. Video presentations showcased DAN’s Diving & Hyperbaric Medicine Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses and recent collaboration with the Office of Naval Research.

PODCAST SESSIONS
In our media room, DAN staff recorded interviews with more than a dozen voices from across the dive industry, each sharing unique stories and perspectives on safety. Topics ranged from underwater cave exploration and equipment innovations to marine conservation and aquarium diving.
These conversations will be published in The DANcast‘s second season, launching in January 2026 with new episodes airing biweekly on YouTube and other platforms.
